Middling Along Podcast: Episode Twelve - Siobhan Daniels on the ‘retirement rebellion‘ and her solo #vanlife travels around the UK

Siobhan Daniels is a retired BBC journalist and pro-age campaigner, part of the retirement rebellion. Almost two years ago she gave away her non-essential possessions, bought a motorhome, and started her solo travels around the UK. Not long afterwards, the global pandemic hit, and her plans came to a dramatic halt.

Now that she is 'on the road' again, I catch up with Siobhan to talk about why she decided to rebel against the stereotype of a quiet retirement of gardening and crosswords, what is was like surviving lockdown alone in a campervan, and how she picks the next spot on her almost-completely-unplanned route. We also cover positive aging, why we need to challenge ourselves as we age, and the book she is working on to inspire other women to take a chance and take on new challenges.
